Single Convention of Narcotic Drugs

1961 The Single Convention of Narcotic Drugs is passed at the U.N. It codifies all existing multilateral treaties on controlling drugs, and expands controls on raw plant production. The aim of the treaty is to limit drug production, trade, and possession to medical and scientific purposes, and to coordinate efforts against illegal drug trade.
