Harrison Narcotics Tax Act

1914 The foundation of future U.S. drug law is established by the Harrison Narcotics Tax Act. Enacted in accordance with the International Opium Convention, it requires doctors and pharmacists to register with internal revenue collectors in order to prescribe narcotics.
